AnyToneCPS — Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 5, 2026

AnyToneCPS is a hobby project built and maintained by one person in their spare time. This page explains what data the app touches, in plain language.

Summary

AnyToneCPS does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to the developer or to any third party. It is a codeplug programming tool for the AnyTone D890UV DMR radio: it reads and writes your radio’s configuration (channels, zones, contacts, and other settings) directly between your device and the radio itself, over a USB cable. There is no account, no sign-in, no backend run by the developer, no analytics, and no advertising.

Data stored on your device

Nothing above is ever transmitted to the developer.

USB access to your radio

AnyToneCPS requests permission to access a connected AnyTone D890UV radio over USB when you plug one in and choose to read from or write to it. This is a direct, local connection between your device and the radio — no data from this exchange is sent anywhere else. On devices without USB Host support, the app still installs and works for editing project files; only the radio connection is unavailable.

Internet permission

The app currently requests Android’s INTERNET permission, reserved for a planned future feature (looking up nearby repeater information from an online database) that is not yet implemented. No version of the app released so far makes any network request. This policy will be updated, with a new effective date, before that feature ships, to describe exactly what it sends and to where.

Third parties

AnyToneCPS includes no analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs, and does not share data with any third party.

Children’s privacy

AnyToneCPS does not knowingly collect data from anyone, regardless of age, for the reasons described above.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the update will be reflected here with a new effective date.
